Bloglines, GRRRRRRR!

I am having SO much trouble trying to make Bloglines work. I loaded the Sub from Blog link to my favorites, and clicking on it seems to take me to the "add this blog to my feeds" place, but then the blog never appears when I click on "My Feeds". Obviously I'm doing something wrong. Can't seem to find much detail about this in the FAQ...any ideas?

after you "Sub with bloglines" it will bring up the page with the info on that blog. You must make a choice of which feed you want. Oftentimes there will be three different choices. I always go with the one that says Atom... good luck.

Welcome to Blogland!

Have you have downloaded the Bloglines Notifier which puts a little B on a blue background in the bottom right hand corner of the browser window?

If you right click with the mouse on the Blog you are reading, you will see "Bloglines Toolkit". Run the mouse over the arrow and then click on Subscribe to This Page, and then follow Tonya's instructions.

Wow, thanks Tonya and Clare...I think I'm now up and running with Bloglines.


Boy, that little box that needs ticking is pretty subtle. I've been using computers for years, but I doubt if I'd ever have realized I was supposed to tick one of those boxes. Not intuitive!

Well, QuiltingFitzy, I'm not going to be gone forever. We don't leave here till late October and we will no doubt be back up here a few times a year to visit family and friends, and my husband's clients. So, I'll keep posting and reading...maybe our paths will cross!

Sunday at Little Vineyards

Gotta love these hot summer afternoons, with local wine and music. Little Vineyards is in Glen Ellen and Rich Little, proprietor, is also a musician. He puts on occasional musical afternoons with pizza and wine, and everyone has a fine time. On Sunday, he had a very special warm-up band: Pigs in Space - an adorable group of local kids, mostly freshmen at the local high schools. Then Rich and his group took over for some rockin' and rollin'. Gorgeous setting, delicious Les Piscines, aka luscious rose wine over ice cubes, inventive pizzas, and great music and congenial company. What an afternoon! Yesterday's stoll around Glen Ellen provided a charming glimpse of a clutch of California Quail scurrying about near the historic old church. Sonoma County at its finest!

Nearly Finished!

It was a productive week, I'm happy to say! Realized at some point that there's no floor space that's safe to pin on and large enough for a queen-size quilt inside the house. So...a couple of days ago I set myself up in the garage after carefully sweeping up any dust and dirt. It was freezing out there! Worked out pretty well, though. Here's "Life is a Promise, Fulfill It", and all the layers stretched out and ready for pinning. Before I started the layering process, I decided to try to get one shot of the entire quilt top, for posterity. Not easy...had to perch on a ladder and it still isn't really satisfactory. I need a design wall! Back in the house, after all the hours of pinning, sore knees, sore fingers, but that quilt is all pinned together! I'm MELTING......

It is so hot today, and humid, and enervating. At least the hot winds of earlier today are moderating a bit. Have I mentioned that I don't do well in the heat? So what am I doing? Baking a Nectarine Cobbler. Must be mad! But the nectarines are really delicious this year, and we're going to some friends' house for dinner and I volunteered to bring the pudding (that's Aussie-speak for dessert, dontcha know?), so voila! One Nectarine Cobbler coming up. No progress on Hugo's Wheels today. It's paper-pieced with blocks from EQ6, and I just don't have the patience for all those fiddly bits and the attendant mess today. Did a little work on my Print O' The Waves shawl...I finished the first short side of the knitted-on border. Fun, but slow going. Here are the first blocks I've completed for Hugo's Wheels.
