Bloglines, GRRRRRRR!

I am having SO much trouble trying to make Bloglines work. I loaded the Sub from Blog link to my favorites, and clicking on it seems to take me to the "add this blog to my feeds" place, but then the blog never appears when I click on "My Feeds". Obviously I'm doing something wrong. Can't seem to find much detail about this in the FAQ...any ideas?

after you "Sub with bloglines" it will bring up the page with the info on that blog. You must make a choice of which feed you want. Oftentimes there will be three different choices. I always go with the one that says Atom... good luck.

Welcome to Blogland!

Have you have downloaded the Bloglines Notifier which puts a little B on a blue background in the bottom right hand corner of the browser window?

If you right click with the mouse on the Blog you are reading, you will see "Bloglines Toolkit". Run the mouse over the arrow and then click on Subscribe to This Page, and then follow Tonya's instructions.

Wow, thanks Tonya and Clare...I think I'm now up and running with Bloglines.


Boy, that little box that needs ticking is pretty subtle. I've been using computers for years, but I doubt if I'd ever have realized I was supposed to tick one of those boxes. Not intuitive!

Well, QuiltingFitzy, I'm not going to be gone forever. We don't leave here till late October and we will no doubt be back up here a few times a year to visit family and friends, and my husband's clients. So, I'll keep posting and reading...maybe our paths will cross!

My mother passed away last night in California, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's, at age 86. She had been living in a very caring residential care facility for the past few years, following a stroke, and after suffering a second stroke a couple of weeks ago, she finally has found release from her suffering and is at peace. She lived a long and interesting life. Born in the Texas Panhandle in February of 1921, the youngest of 10 children, she and her older sister hitchhiked to California during the Great Depression to live with relatives there, as it was too difficult for her own mother to take care of all 10 children and give them the help they needed to make a good start in life. They arrived safely in California, where she lived for the rest of her life. She was not a quilter, but did beautiful knitting and crochet. Together, At Last!

The day we knew would come at last, has come at last! All kitties are home and safe, and we are SO happy to have them with us. Here's me, with Patch, who looked so miserable at the quarantine facility. Cloudy, his brother, is behind me, very blase, having a bath. Chloe, one of our most scaredy-cat ex-ferals, contemplates a break-out, but decides the chook pen and it's fenced yard may be an ok place to hang out until we complete the renovations and extensions to the new house. Cloudy is settling in very fast, and may be able to do some prowling around tomorrow, outside the cage. He's our most confident ex-feral. Spike is our oldest cat...a female who was mis-identified by the first vet who saw her after we adopted her, but we just couldn't rename her. She's VERY happy to be back with us. What's Up With Dianne, Anyway?

Well, I've been among the missing for far too long...again...and no excuses, either. Just feeling a bit down and overloaded, as we now face the prospect of moving out of this house (that we only moved into last October) so we can begin the renovation project. I just can't seem to get myself in gear. No energy, no motivation to get myself going. It's hard to think of all that's necessary to bring this project to fruition: choosing a zillion things like stoves, fridges, bathtubs, shower surrounds, tiles, colors, flooring, etc. ad nauseum, when you don't know which suppliers are good, what brands to choose, where the showrooms are. Sigh. I know it's silly, because it will all be worth it when we're finished, but I just can't seem to get into it this time around. We've built two houses before this project, and loved doing them both. I think once we finally get going I'll get my house mojo going again, but for now I feel a bit paralyzed. And...
