Lazy Last Day in Weggis -- A Ferry Ride to Brunnen

After a fairly vigorous day yesterday, hiking for Ross and a long walk for me, we decided to take it easy today and just ride the ferry from Weggis out to Brunnen and back.  A glorious, sunny end to our stay in Weggis.  Tomorrow it's on to Geneva.

Loved the look of this gracious old hotel.  Wonder what it would be like to stay here!
Every village we saw had a beautiful old church tower.
The red shutters on the lovely old brown house were closed.  Wonder if the owners live and work in Zurich or another bigger city, and they just use this place as a weekender.
Arriving in Brunnen, the views of the Alps still have bits of snow visible.
Beautiful ferries shuttling back and forth every hour.
We were puzzled by this vehicle, part motorcycle, part automobile.
Walking along the shoreline, the view subtly changes as you go.
Back on the ferry for the return trip to Weggis, a couple of hours after we arrived in Brunnen, the sun was even more brilliant.
Looking back where we came from, we could see these big clouds beginning to form.  Maybe another rainstorm will be in our future tonight!
Good thing Ross brought along his hat, otherwise his head and face would have been sunburned.
We rode this lovely old paddlewheel ferry yesterday.  Fun to see it passing us in the other direction from today's ferry.
Those red shutters again, on our return trip.
And what a beautiful little house, right at the water's edge.
Viznau is the last stop before we return to Weggis.
Pink rock exposed a long time ago, when the rock above broke off.  Loved the contrast with the Swiss flag banner.
Contrasts, contrasts, contrasts:  old farm up high on the mountain, very modern houses in the middle, and a couple of graceful old houses at the water's edge.
My love of old barns never fades...
And back to Weggis in plenty of time for dinner.
