A Coronavirus Quarantine Journal, Day 14, And Home!

Up at dawn's crack, really ready to hit the road.  We had to do a thorough check of every nook and cranny, because once we go out that door and it closes, A) we can't get back in without a key, and B) we're not ALLOWED back in because they will come in to clean and sanitize, and anything we've left will be destroyed.  You can bet we were VERY careful.

Finally, all scrubbed up, packed and ready to say goodbye to our little 14-day haven...My arms aren't long enough for a really good selfie.

We headed down the hall to the elevators, where two hall guards radioed down to be sure the Kings were cleared to leave.  Getting an affirmative answer, they summoned the elevator and down we went.  On Level One we were greeted by a cheery NSW Policeman who directed us to the check-out tables where six Police employees took our names, double-checked against the roster to be sure we were okayed to leave.  They apologized that we had to be in isolation for two weeks and inquired how our stay was.  We enthused about their excellent organization and helpful staffing, and they sent us on our way, wishing us well.

Out on the sidewalk...BREEZES, PEOPLE, CARS, MOVEMENT, FRESH AIR!  WOW!  A little hand sanitizer for me, for old times' sake!

The big wide world was waiting for us...

Soon we saw Trea and Wendie's car arrive, they pulled in and we loaded up.

Lickety-split, we were zipping through Sydney, headed for the freeway, and off to Bowral.  Only one stop at Harris Farm to shop (SHOP!) to stock up the larder, and then on to our place.  Trea and Wen helped us shuttle everything in and then left us to get organized.

And Ross raided the fridge

while I settled in for a little snack.

So...we're home, safe and sound...but what happened to all the leaves?  Oh, right, it's Autumn, Down Under!

Hooray, hooray! Back to familiar surroundings! What a comfort that must be! Just think, more than one room to walk around in. :-)

Aw, you didn't take those cocoa puffs home with you? Must be like getting out of prison. So glad you're well and happy.
